60th birthday Celebration

July 26th, 2009 by Tricia B

I had the honor of photographing a 60th surprise birthday party and as part of the celebration took lots of family group pictures.  One favorite in particular was four generations of women: mom, new baby, grand mother and great grand mother. This image reminded me of why photography is so important to families. Long after this new baby grows up (perhaps when she is a new mother herself) this image will be a treasured family heirloom.  Imagine if you were the baby in this image. What would this picture mean to you when you were an adult? Anyway, here are some images from the party that caught my heart strings.

Engagement session at Prince’s Island Park

Anah and Justin are so suited to each other.  During their engagement session they almost finished each other’s sentences. Their eyes for one another spoke volumes about their love and commitment. I know their wedding day will be the start of a long and happy marriage for them.  Here are some of my favorites from their engagement session.

Engagement session at Nose Hill Park

Nicole and Ryan are such a fun couple. Both of them have a great sense of humor and are so at ease with each other. They played and laughed throughout their engagement photo session and I image their wedding day will be more of the same.  I can’t wait to see who cries first during their ceremony. Here are a few of my favorite images from their engagement session.

Jessica and Nick are getting married in August 2009. They are the sweetest couple and have been looking forward to their wedding day with excitement and joy.  I can’t wait to seem them all dressed up in their wedding attire. Here are some of my favorite images from their engagement session.

Tricia B Photography at the Calgary Stampeders game

July 26th, 2009 by Tricia B

I cannot believe how long it’s been since I shot the Calgary Stampeders home game against the Toronto Argonauts on July 17th. Turns out I wasn’t feeling the best during the game and since then I’ve been nursing a wicked cold and strep throat. I’m down to the annoying left over cough but feeling human now at least.  Here are some of my favorite pics from the game…. finally!

Too much equity in the existing name to shorten it without thinking of some backwoods bait ‘n’ tackle joint. Just ditch the name for something like Electro-Outhouse.

Seminar with Bambi Cantrell

July 16th, 2009 by Tricia B

Bambi Cantrell is one of the Top 10 Photographers in the World, and one of the nicest women you’ll ever meet. She’s a dynamo with more energy and creativity than I can express. Her generosity in teaching is amazing and gives some very remarkable results. These images were taken during Bambi’s two-day class at the WPPI Convention 2009 in Las Vegas.

Tricia B Photography has a brand new B*log

July 15th, 2009 by Tricia B

As this is my first blog post I have many people to thank. First and foremost, Ellen Petty of Identity Kitchen (www.identitykitchen.com) for my logo design, blog design, and general cheerleading for my brand.  Without Ellen, this blog and my new website (www.triciabphoto.com) would never exist.  Along with Ellen’s dynamic design, Marty Thornley was the wizard on the other side of the screen who put together my blog. They say patience is a virtue so that makes Marty an extremely virtuous fellow indeed. Marty deserves a huge round of applause for all his support despite my inability to really ‘get’ the technical stuff.   A BIG thank you for all the excellent work you both did in preparing me for blogging.

Additionally, I want to thank Bambi Cantrell (www.cantrellportrait.com), Cliff Mautner (www.cmphotography.com), David A. Williams (www.davidwilliams-heartworks.com), Chuck Eaton (www.chuckeaton.net), Neil van Niekerk (www.oneperfectmoment.com), and Andras Schram (www.andrasschram.com) for their constant inspiration, kind words, and priceless information.  Without these people, I would not have had the courage to do what I’m doing. Each of them has inspired me differently, yet all of them have equally strengthened my resolve to grow and learn.  Thank you from the heart <3
